Creative Partnerships for Nursing Programs
Presenters in this session will discuss a common curriculum for community colleges in Minnesota and a university in Minnesota that was developed to to advance nursing education through a shared curriculum. The organizational framework was a concept-based, spiraled curriculum with consistency of course sequence on each community college campus. Each school determined its course implementation methods and retained full responsibility and accountability for its nursing program. Matriculation results indicated that 33% to 37% of graduates from the community colleges matriculated seamlessly to the sixth semester of the baccalaureate program, exceeding the goal of 30%.
