Ms.Tina Lear is the National Program Director of NEPIN, the National Education Progression in Nursing Collaborative. NEPIN continues the work of APIN to advance nurses to higher degrees by serving as a national leader for key stakeholders to build alliances to accelerate progression; creating a comprehensive national resource; identifying and disseminating consistent data collection and metrics; creating successful communication strategies to further education progression; and expanding alliances strategically. Ms. Lear is also the Executive Director of the Missouri Center for Nursing, where she oversees the implementation of collaborative programs to improve the health of Missourians through the nursing profession. In this role, she also manages the Missouri Action Coalition which is dedicated to ensuring that nurses are equipped to be full partners in health and health care of the future. Ms. Lear holds a bachelor’s degree in Education and a master’s degree in heath administration with an emphasis in informatics. She has previously worked in economic statistics, the insurance industry, government sponsored health programs, provider recruitment, and health IT. She is currently on the Advisory Board for the National Nurses on Boards Coalition and just completed a two-year term as the Secretary and Treasurer of the National Forum of State Nursing Workforce Centers. Though she is not a nurse, Ms Lear is a nurse champion. She has tremendous passion for ensuring that the contributions, potential, and value of nursing are recognized and acknowledged. Ms. Lear lives in Jefferson City, Missouri with her husband and three children. When she is not working, she can usually be found at a sports facility or in a dance studio cheering on and supporting her kids.
